HLD Generates Buzz For EmPower Solar
3.6.2012 - Harrison Leifer DiMarco is generating buzz for EmPower Solar of Island Park with an integrated advertising and marketing campaign focused on a 50-kilowatt (kW) solar energy system designed and installed by the company for the Freeport (New York) Fire Department. HLD’s campaign leveraged the Freeport FD project to educate the public about the benefits of solar energy, while establishing the company’s credentials and expanding brand awareness.
As EmPower’s agency of record, HLD used both public relations and advertising strategies to saturate the local market with messaging. HLD’s public relations strategy included distributing a press release, which garnered pickup in Newsday and several local newspapers, and working with producers at News12 Long Island to feature the project on its “Go Green With 12” series. Simultaneously, print ads appeared in the Bellmore, Merrick and Baldwin Heralds. HLD also produced Facebook ads and online banner ads which were placed at optonline.net and patch.com. Branded posters were designed and placed at the Freeport LIRR station. All communications directed consumers to a localized Web landing page, www.empower-solar.com/freeport, where they could find more detailed information about both residential and commercial solar energy systems.
“In the three weeks of the initial campaign, almost 1,100 visits to the landing page were logged resulting in several serious customer inquiries now being developed into new projects by EmPower,” said Roy DiMarco, President & CEO of Harrison Leifer DiMarco. “Based on its early success, the campaign is now being extended into additional geographies.”
