HLD/Blankman Public Relations Retained by the Amsterdam at Harborside
10.26.2006 - HLD/Blankman Public Relations, a division of Harrison Leifer DiMarco, announced today that it has been retained by The Amsterdam at Harborside, Nassau County’s first and only true life care retirement community. The project is sponsored by the not-for-profit Amsterdam House Continuing Care Retirement Community Inc., which is associated with Amsterdam Nursing Home in Manhattan.
The Amsterdam at Harborside will be located on nine acres across from Harbor Links golf course in Port Washington, N.Y. The $259 million senior living community will offer 260 independent living apartment homes, and 74 private suites for assisted living and skilled nursing.
HLD/Blankman will work with community organizations, professional groups, government officials and media representatives to educate the public about life care, as well as the specific services and amenities that The Amsterdam at Harborside will offer future residents. “The questions surrounding aging and retirement touch on a wide variety of issues and options that indicate how complex the senior housing arena has become,” said Julie Gross Gelfand, HLD/Blankman Vice President & Director of Public Relations. “Since this will be the first life care community in Nassau County, we have a tremendous opportunity to educate the public about how the aging-in-place option supports a fully independent and active lifestyle, while providing access to a health care continuum to meet the needs of every life stage.”
